Role OverviewThe Revenue Accountant III will administer and review revenue collection activity for MassDOT Highway accounts receivable billings, including rental and leased properties, the Highway Logo Sign Program, State Police details, employee benefits, trucking permits, and other miscellaneous revenue billings. This position will review accounting records, reports, and procedures for accuracy; recommend improvements to revenue accounting operations; identify trends or discrepancies affecting revenue activity; and provide guidance to internal and external customers regarding state finance laws and agency rules, procedures, and financial transactions.
What You Will Do
Administer MassDOT Highway accounts receivable billing and revenue activity. Apply, reconcile, and review cash receipts and customer account activity. Perform review, reporting, and collection activity for revenue accounts. Process and reconcile customer refunds and overpayments. Reconcile trucking permit revenue and related electronic receipt activity. Process eminent domain trust fund and related Mosaic transactions.

Requirements
- Three years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional experience in accounting or auditing, of which at least one year must have been in a supervisory, administrative or managerial capacity
- An Associate's degree with a major in accounting, business administration or business management may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience
- A Bachelor's degree with a major in accounting, business administration or business management may be substituted for a maximum of two years of the required experience
- A Graduate degree with a major in accounting, business administration or business management may be substituted for the required experience
