Role OverviewThe Real Estate Portfolio Analyst will work alongside the President of Real Estate to bridge finance and operations as Roots continues to scale. The role will own financial reporting and portfolio accounting for the REIT, ensuring accurate and timely financial data to support internal decision-making and investor reporting.
What You Will Do
The main responsibilities of this role include maintaining monthly portfolio schedules, collecting and reviewing financial information, preparing portfolio reporting and consolidated financial statements, and supporting investor reporting and audits.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within real estate, property management, fund accounting, or a REIT
- Strong understanding of property accounting principles and month-end close processes
- Experience reconciling and consolidating financial information from multiple external sources
- Experience working with residential real estate portfolios, preferably single-family rentals
- Familiarity with REIT accounting and financial reporting is preferred
- Experience with Yardi, AppFolio, Sage, or similar accounting software is a plus
- Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and financial analysis
