Role Overview

The Receiving Manager oversees the activities of the Receiving Department within a single retail location, supervising and coordinating the efforts of the Receiving team to support Sales/Operations with respect to product fulfillment and the supply chain.

What You Will Do

The day-to-day responsibilities include leading, executing, and monitoring inbound and outbound receiving processes, prioritizing and orchestrating the activities of various warehouse personnel, inspecting and documenting the physical condition of the warehouse, and planning and implementing warehouse safety and security principles.

The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience and knowledge of receiving, warehouse, supply chain, and logistics concepts, with proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and barcode tracking technology.

  • 5 – 10 years of experience and knowledge of receiving, warehouse, supply chain, and logistics concepts
  • Familiar with material handling equipment with respect to operation and safety
  • Knowledge of corresponding health and sanitation codes (i.e. COOL)
  • Proficiency in the use of Excel, Word, Great Plains and other proprietary applications (Transfer and labor reporting)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Sound decision making and analytical skills
  • Introduce labor reducing equipment and efficiencies
  • Able to work effectively under staff and labor constraints
  • Strong leadership and direction to warehouse team members, establish clear expectations, promote accountability, and foster a productive and collaborative work environment
  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and/or implementation of WMS
