Role Overview

The Receptionist for the Thompson Child Development Center will ensure a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for all guests, visitors, and clients. The role encompasses various responsibilities, including front office duties, data entry, communication, and providing information to the public. The Receptionist will work independently and coordinate responsibilities with others when needed.

What You Will Do

The main day-to-day responsibilities of the Receptionist include performing front office duties, maintaining the comfort of the lobby/waiting area, ordering office supplies, and assisting staff with clerical duties. The Receptionist will also provide information and assistance to the public, communicate effectively with individuals, and handle situations calmly and efficiently.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least one year of administrative experience
  • Familiarity with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to interact calmly and tactfully with the public and internal customers
  • Clear speaking voice and fluency in the English language
  • Knowledge of Spanish language (helpful)
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate responsibilities with others when needed
