Recreation Aide

The City of Irwindale is seeking a Recreation Aide to support recreation programs, facilities, and community activities. This position plays a hands-on role in helping provide safe, accessible, and welcoming recreational opportunities for residents of all ages.

What You Will Do

Responsibilities include supporting recreation programs, assisting with classes and special events, preparing facilities and equipment, providing customer service, registering participants, and helping maintain accurate program records.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The successful candidate will have excellent customer service skills, be able to work under pressure, and be able to learn cashiering methods and procedures.

Requirements

• Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade or currently attending high school and will obtain high school diploma or equivalent within the next six months.
• Some experience as a participant in recreational leadership activities is desirable.
• Must be at least 16 years of age (minors need to submit work permit).
• Must be able to obtain a First Aid/CPR Certificate within 3 months of hire.
• Must be able to work varying hours including days, early mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays.
