Job Description
Role Overview

Performs indoor, outdoor, arts & crafts, educational, low organized programs and activities for youth 6-17 years of age. Work involves overseeing and maintaining assigned facility, and park dealing with the general public, maintaining safety of members, public and staff, maintaining a high profile in the community, and supervising participants in recreation and education activities.

What You Will Do

Prepare and organize registrations, supplies and special events, maintain facilities and monitor park and building for safety, assist in implementation of Community Recreation Programs, assist in team sports practices and tournaments, perform physical and manual work, plan and coordinate activities with supervisor and co-workers.

Must have a current valid class "C" driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety with a satisfactory driving record, required CPR/First Aide Certifications, bilingual English/Spanish Preferred, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, ability to understand and follow instructions and directions, good public relations ability, learn and become knowledgeable with departmental and city rules/regulations, bookkeeping and management skills.

Requirements

  • Pursuing high school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalency
  • No experience required
  • Preferred some professional work experience in the Parks & Recreation Field or equivalent
  • Current valid class "C" driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety with a satisfactory driving record
  • Required CPR/First Aide Certifications
  • Bilingual English/Spanish Preferred
