Role OverviewThe Texas Workforce Commission is seeking a Rehabilitation Assistant to join the Vocational Rehabilitation Department. The RA assists VR Counselors in providing services to customers to achieve successful employment outcomes. The role involves providing basic information regarding VR programs, services, and referral information to customers and vendors.
What You Will Do
The RA performs entry-level human services/rehabilitation support work, including routine caseload support services, collecting information for intake/profile process, and maintaining business relationships with providers/businesses/customers/staff.

Requirements
- One year of full-time qualifying experience in human services, social science, business, or a related field
- Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent
- Thirty (30) semester hours in human services, social science, business, or a related field may be substituted for experience
- Eighteen (18) months experience in office practices and office support work utilizing a personal computer in a Windows' based environment
- Experience in applying purchasing procedures, case guidelines, regulations, and policies, case management support functions
- Knowledge of community and government service delivery systems, mental illness, and emotional components of physical illness
- Ability to interpret highly complex policies/procedures, maintain confidentiality, analyze/interpret highly complex financial data
- Skill in interviewing and in conducting individual needs assessments
