Job Description
The Relief Judge reports directly to the Presiding Judge on judiciary matters affecting the City of Aurora. The position requires a Juris Doctorate and at least 5 years of litigation and/or judicial experience, preferably in criminal law, or municipal court experience.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate
  • At least 5 years of litigation and/or judicial experience
  • Knowledge of the Colorado Rules of Evidence, the Colorado Rule of Municipal Procedure, and the ability to abide by the Colorado Code of Judicial Conduct
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with municipal court judges, Mayor and City Council, judicial department staff, and senior management throughout the city
  • Active license to practice law in the State of Colorado
