Job Description
The Guardian, a global news organization, is seeking a dynamic Reporter for a new project focused on movement building and the protection of civil rights in the United States. This role will amplify underreported stories about movements like immigration and racial justice, and contribute to a national narrative about grassroots organizing. The ideal candidate will work both domestically and internationally, offering a chance to cover local and global movements in the US.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of experience as a reporter with a strong track record of delivering high-impact, socially focused journalism
  • Experience covering political and activist movements in the US
  • Skilled writer who can pitch and write daily and long-term stories
  • Comfortable juggling multiple projects at once
  • Understanding of Guardian tone and global audience
  • Sophisticated understanding of the boundaries between advocacy and journalism
  • Excellent knowledge of national news and current affairs
  • Highly collaborative team player
