Job Description
Role Overview

The Rescue Technician provides technical rescue standby for customer projects, including confined space rescue and technical rope rescue, as well as first aid and CPR. The role involves assessing risks, readying rescue equipment, and planning practical and effective solutions towards safe working practices.

What You Will Do

The Rescue Technician will assist in assessing potential hazards, draft a Confined Space Rescue Preplan and a Rescue Safety Analysis, and conduct daily job briefings with customers and workers. They will also perform on-going monitoring of job conditions and equipment resources, complete daily ICS reports, and render first aid and CPR to the level of training.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will have certification from the California Office of the Fire Marshal - State Fire Training, or proof of successful completion from a California Office of the Fire Marshal – State Fire Training Accredited Firefighter 1 Academy. The role requires the ability to inspect, clean, and perform preventative maintenance on all rescue equipment, and proficiency in rescue operations.

Requirements

  • Certification from the California Office of the Fire Marshal - State Fire Training
  • Proof of successful completion from a California Office of the Fire Marshal – State Fire Training Accredited Firefighter 1 Academy
  • IFSAC Firefighter I certified or Pro Board Firefighter 1 certified
  • Confined Space Entrant, Healthcare Provider CPR, First Aid with AED, First Responder or better preferred
  • Haz-whopper, 4 Gas Monitor Operation Training, Familiar with OSHA Atmosphere Limitation, and Proven Proficiency in Rescue Operations
