Role OverviewThe Research Assistant supports research activities in an interdisciplinary geochemistry laboratory, assisting with laboratory operations, maintaining accurate records, and complying with laboratory safety policies.

Assists with laboratory operations, including sample preparation, analytical procedures, equipment operation and maintenance, inventory management, and organization of a shared research environment.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, environmental engineering, or a related field
- At least 6 months of directly related experience

- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Ability to effectively interact with a diverse population of students, faculty, and staff
- Ability to quickly learn new laboratory and research techniques
- Ability to analyze data, troubleshoot experiments, and communicate findings effectively in writing and verbally
- Ability to maintain accurate, organized laboratory records
- Previous laboratory experience
- Ability to follow detailed protocols and maintain accurate records
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a research team
