Role OverviewThe Research Assistant will work in the Fishell Laboratory at Harvard Medical School, advancing the doctoral research of a Research Fellow on developmental plasticity of Myh8+ somatostatin (SST) interneuron synaptic connectivity with cortical pyramidal neurons. The successful candidate will contribute to the broader operations and scientific program of the laboratory under the coordination of the lab manager.
What You Will Do
Primary duties include mouse colony management, perfusion, tissue processing, confocal imaging, quantitative image analysis, assisting with stereotaxic viral infections, and maintaining electronic lab notebook records. The Research Assistant will also support broader laboratory operations, including shared reagent preparation, genotyping pipeline oversight, equipment maintenance, and onboarding of new lab members.
