Role Overview

As a Research Assistant II at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, you will conduct various laboratory tests using molecular, cell biology, and/or biochemistry techniques. You will perform lab procedures with speed, precision, and understanding of the theory behind tests and procedures. You will work under the general supervision of the principal investigator and be responsible for routine and non-routine laboratory tests, including DNA sequencing, gene cloning, and immunohistochemistry.

What You Will Do

Your primary responsibilities will include performing routine and non-routine laboratory tests, synthesizing and interpreting results, operating and maintaining lab equipment, making decisions regarding the reliability and accuracy of results, and preparing written and/or verbal reports on the status of research and technical procedures used.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or related scientific field
  • 1-3 years related work experience
  • Experience with computer systems, including web-based applications and Microsoft Office applications
