Role OverviewThe Research Fellow will propose and undertake a mentored, innovative project or challenge to develop novel techniques for Ophthalmic Treatments. They will design and perform experiments, analyze and present the outcome. The role is part of the Jurkunas lab, which focuses on the role of oxidative stress in Fuchs endothelial corneal dystrophy (FECD).
What You Will Do
The Research Fellow will culture corneal endothelial cell lines, develop project-specific cell-based assays, and employ genetically modified mouse lines to study the role of specific genes in FECD development. They will also collaborate with and mentor members of the multi-disciplinary team, maintain accurate lab records, and contribute to publications and grant proposals.
