Role OverviewAs a Research Scientist at ICON, you will play a key role in clinical sample testing, assay development, and data analysis within a CLIA/CAP-accredited laboratory environment.
What You Will Do
Perform clinical sample testing, including nucleic acid isolation, nucleic acid quantification and QC, library preparation (manual/automation), data analysis, and reporting laboratory results as directed.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Strong expertise in next-generation sequencing (NGS), molecular biology techniques, and clinical NGS assay validation is required.
Requirements
- MS or BS in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Genomics, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in NGS (preferred)
- Experience in oncology, genetics, or infectious disease NGS assay development is highly desirable
- Strong hands-on expertise in molecular biology techniques
- Familiarity with laboratory automation systems, bioinformatics tools (e.g. IGV, secondary/tertiary analysis), IVD NGS test development/validation, or programming/AI are preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
