Role OverviewThe Ahamed Lab in the Cardiovascular Biology Research Program is searching for a Research Technician to support ongoing research focused on mouse models of heart disease. The role offers hands-on experience in experimental research, mouse colony support, and general lab operations within a collaborative scientific environment.
What You Will Do
Performing experiments using various molecular, cellular, and biochemical techniques, analyzing and interpreting experimental data, supporting the management and breeding of a mouse colony, and assisting with laboratory organization and compliance with safety protocols.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a biological science or related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant laboratory experience.
- Ability and willingness to handle laboratory mice, including breeding, maintenance, and procedures as needed.
- Basic proficiency with computers, including internet browsing, order processing systems, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to comprehend instructions, follow protocols, and perform precise, accurate work when handling samples and chemicals.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to compute basic mathematical operations such as rates, ratios, percentages, molarity, and unit conversions.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for documenting procedures, summarizing data, and collaborating effectively with team members.
