Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Technician to join our research lab focused on the human fungal pathogen, Cryptococcus neoformans. The successful candidate will support ongoing research projects that involved molecular genetics, cell biology, and functional genomics.

Requirements

  • Culture, maintain, and genetically manipulate Cryptococcus strains
  • Perform standard molecular biology techniques, including PCR, DNA/RNA extraction, gel electrophoresis, and plasmid construction
  • Carry out yeast transformations, growth assays, and phenotypic characterizations
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of experimental procedures and results
  • Assist in lab maintenance, including inventory management, solution preparation, and equipment upkeep
  • Contribute to data analysis and help prepare figures for presentations or publications
  • Participate in lab meetings and collaborate with other lab members
  • Assist key lab safety person with compliance of the institutional safety and regulatory policies
