Role Overview

Works under minimal supervision to provide responsible technical assistance in performance of assignments requiring basic knowledge of techniques and practices related to particular field of science. The Research Technician II position will be trained to investigate genetic diseases and brain tumors, particularly in the setting of neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1).

What You Will Do

Performs routine scientific and medical research work in science area such as biology, chemistry, physics, or other related scientific field. Assembles and/or operates various laboratory equipment and apparatus. Records research data in accordance with prescribed procedures, discussing results with supervisor.

Why It Might Be a Fit

Preferred Applicant: BS degree in Biology/Genetics/neuroscience or other medical research related; Ability to communicate and collaborate with other team members; Research experiences in cancer biology, single-cell genomics and childhood diseases would be desirable.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Biology/Genetics/neuroscience or other medical research related
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with other team members
  • Research experiences in cancer biology, single-cell genomics and childhood diseases
  • Attention to detail, time management, effective communication skills, ability to problem solve and work independently, teamwork, customer/client service, and professionalism
  • Minimum working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
