Role Overview

The Resident Assistant/Personal Care Aide provides quality care and assistance with activities of daily living to residents of the community.

What You Will Do

Assists residents with activities of daily living, performs housekeeping duties, responds to resident calls, and assists in planning and conducting activity programs.

Must be able to remain calm and competent during emergencies, communicate verbally and in writing, and be a contributing member of the nursing team.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Successfully completed approved personal care aide program per state regulations
  • Effective communication verbally and in-writing
  • Organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel
  • Polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs, and push or carry 25 lbs
  • Ability to safely lift and transfer residents while maintaining proper body mechanics
  • CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to become certified within 60 days of hire
  • Ability to represent the community in a positive and professional manner
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays
