Job Description
The Department of Design & Construction, Division of Infrastructure, is currently seeking a Resident Engineer to join our Construction Management Unit's Bronx/North Queens team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision and performance of the work on assigned contracts.

Requirements

  • Review and coordinate daily work schedules with the contractors
  • Meet regularly to identify and resolve project-related issues
  • Review and evaluate contractors' proposed progress schedule
  • Monitor contractors' conformance and recommend corrective action should a deviation occur
  • Supervise and/or perform construction inspection operations
  • Take necessary action to secure compliance with contract requirements
  • Maintain an accurate and detailed daily log of all projects-related activities
  • Initiate the preparation of field memoranda, letters, and accident reports
  • Reply to community inquiries and complaints
  • Prepare comprehensive reports as required
  • Serve as the Agency's on-site representative
