Role OverviewThe Residential Counselor provides direct care and support to individuals in recovery, helping create a safe, positive, and therapeutic environment. In this role, you will work closely with clients to build life skills, encourage personal growth, and support long-term recovery success.
What You Will Do
Provide emotional support, encouragement, and guidance to clients, support group discussions, life skills training, and mindfulness activities, and respond to crises with professionalism and care.

Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent plus 1 to 2 years of relevant experience is required.
- A copy of a high school diploma is required at the time of hire.
- Immediate registration as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor Aide with the State of Maine within 30 days from the date of hire is required.
- A license as an ADCA must be maintained throughout employment.
- Holders of this position must complete a physical at the time of hire and at least once every three years.
