Role OverviewThe Registered Respiratory Therapist serves as an intricate member of the healthcare team at UVA Health Northern VA Culpeper by establishing an authentic personalized relationship with the patient and their chosen support system, collaborating with physicians and other team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualized respiratory plan of care that promotes optimal health or a comforting peaceful death.
What You Will Do
Administers and evaluates medication therapies, performs patient transfers, and transports patients via wheelchair, hospital bed, or stretcher to other departments.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The incumbent may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned. May require the use of safety equipment, such as HEPA mask, for infection prevention.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree/Certificate required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Registered by National Board of Respiratory Care and current RCP licensure in applicable state required. BLS required upon hire. ACLS, NRP, and PALS to be completed within 90 days of hire date. CRT or RRT. VA State Licensure.
- Completes 2 Respiratory Care competencies/year.
