Job Description
The New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is seeking Assistant Civil Engineers to perform full review of site and house connection proposals for sewer connections to City sewers and issue certification for sewer connections for commercial and residential properties within the five boroughs of New York City.

Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in civil engineering
  • One year of full-time satisfactory experience in civil engineering work
  • Ability to review site and house connection proposal submitted by Professional Engineers and Registered Architects
  • Ability to perform hydraulic calculations to determine the size of sewer connection to City sewer and to evaluate the proposed sewer release rate to sewer
  • Ability to review Survey and other supportive documents to comply with the Department’s Rules, Regulations, Standards and Specifications
