Role Overview

The Emergency Department is a fast-paced ED treating an average of more than 180 patients per day, including acute cardiovascular and neurovascular emergencies, general medical emergencies, traumatic injuries, and psychiatric patients. It is recognized by the American Heart Association as both a STEMI receiving center and a designated Primary Stroke Center. The registered nurse implements the nursing process for each patient regardless of age and is responsible for the patient's care within the parameters of the Kentucky Nurse Practice Act.

What You Will Do

The registered nurse will assess patients, develop a plan of care, provide care according to policy and procedure, evaluate patient response to interventions, and utilize organizational and leadership skills with critical thinking. They will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes and serve as a role model by actively participating in continuous professional development and teaching across the healthcare continuum.

This role requires an active Kentucky License, BCLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications. The ED fosters high levels of teamwork and collaboration with a multi-disciplinary group of professionals. New graduates with appropriate training and background are welcomed.
