Role Overview

The Scripps Health Peri-Operative Education Program (PEP)/OR Transition Program provides a six-month training program for peri-operative nursing. The program is based on the Association of Peri-Operative Registered Nurses (AORN) Peri-Op 101 Program and utilizes a blended learning approach.

What You Will Do

You will work Monday - Friday, 8 hour shifts during the program, no holidays. After completion, you will be willing to work night shift and may be offered other shifts depending on department need.

Why It Might Be a Fit

You must be available to complete the entire program, have excellent interpersonal skills, and be able to speak, read, and follow instructions in English.

Requirements

  • Current California RN license
  • BLS for Health Care Provider from the American Heart Association
  • 1 year of experience, preferably in an acute care (hospital), inpatient setting
  • New Grads must have graduated from nursing school within the past 12 months at time of application (or will soon graduate) and have 6 months or less of paid RN experience
  • Surgical Tech experience required for La Jolla, preferred for Encinitas
  • Completion of an accredited nursing program
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
