Requirements

  • Assessment of patients' culture and values system, lifestyle, and interest and ability to participate in their care
  • Identification and communication of patient or family needs to the interdisciplinary health care team and other providers of care
  • Development of individualized patient treatment plans, in collaboration with the patient and their family, the interdisciplinary health care team, and other providers of care
  • Implementation of prescribed interventions and performance of independent nursing interventions
  • Evaluation of the plan of care, including the patient's responses to interventions and achievement of expected outcomes
  • Advocacy for and support of patient rights and wellbeing
  • Demonstration of professionalism, including adherence to professional, legal, and ethical standards
