Role OverviewThis position works under the general supervision of a physician, advanced practice provider, and/or nursing leadership to deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in the Multi-Specialty ICU. The unit cares for a diverse population of Medical ICU and Cardiac ICU patients, including those with complex medical conditions, STEMI, post-cardiac catheterization procedures, heart and lung transplant evaluations, and advanced heart failure.
What You Will Do
Performs and accurately documents physical, psychosocial, and emotional assessments. Actively anticipates patients and/or patient's family needs and expectations and utilizes these in conjunction with the assessment to develop an appropriate plan of care for the patient. Utilizes critical thinking skills in planning and prioritizing nursing care.

Requirements
- Graduate of an approved/accredited nursing program
- One (1) year of experience working as a registered nurse (RN) in a critical care or intensive care unit (ICU)
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Texas Board of Nursing or with a multistate license from Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state
- BLS/ACLS accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
