Role OverviewAs a roadway engineering designer, you'll support transportation improvement projects with design and detailing of local, county, and state roadway and highway projects. You'll assist with geometric analyses and calculations using established design criteria and standard software. The roadway engineering designer reports to the project manager.
What You Will Do
Assist with developing typical sections, alignments, profiles, layouts, and cross-sections. Support design team in development of design documentation, plans, and reports for specific tasks and quantity calculations. Monitor compliance with applicable codes and engineering practices. Perform engineering calculations and estimates. Collect and process data for topographic surveys and right-of-way engineering for use in design analysis.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification preferred. This hybrid job operates between an office environment and a field environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones and copy machines.
