Role Overview

The Robotics Systems Engineer I, Tech Deployment will oversee large-scale project planning, installation, and launch of industrial automation technologies across Amazon's growing Stores network. This field engineering position demands strong technical skills for deploying robotic equipment, including mechanical and electrical systems, network configurations, and software coordination.

What You Will Do

As a Systems Engineer in RDPI, you will work with cross-functional partners to provide technical oversight on the installation of both third-party and Amazon-designed robotics equipment. You will travel extensively across the US and potentially internationally to meet the requirements of your projects.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate has experience with complex electro-mechanical and network systems, demonstrating leadership in installation, maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting of technologies being deployed across North America. You will work with a team of 1-5 engineers and collaborate with an on-site project manager to provide technical oversight on the installation of robotics equipment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related STEM field
  • Experience in data analysis, with the ability to interpret and draw insights from data to inform decision-making processes
  • 1+ year's experience with technical drawings and/or reading CAD models (mechanical and electrical)
  • 1+ year's Experience working on mechanical, electrical, IT networked, or software systems
  • Ability to read technical drawings and/or reading CAD models to resolve on-site clash issues using 3D clash detection reports
  • Ability to troubleshoot robotics systems to resolve escalations including quality hand-off, live order testing, site acceptance testing, operational readiness testing, monitoring robotics system performance, etc.
  • Ability to read and develop technical documentation and process instructions
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to work primarily in a construction or warehouse environment in a field-based role and travel extensively across the US and potentially internationally
