Job Description

Rodale Institute is seeking a Rodale Institute Organic Community Food Systems Consultant to support farmers and supply chain actors in the transition to Regenerative and Organic production systems in the Pacific Northwest. The position requires frequent travel, collaboration with the research and development departments, and community outreach to build connections between producers and market opportunities. This is a fully remote position, reporting to the Regional Manager.

Requirements

Provide Technical Assistance, Agronomic and Certification Support
Guide beginning, conventional, and existing organic farmers in transitioning to, establishing, and managing organic systems.
Collaborate with Rodale Institute’s Pacific Northwest Organic Center to bring farmer and community voices to the design, implementation and utilization of Regenerative and Organic research initiatives.
Support and advise farmers on using research and experimentation on their farm to improve crop yields and increase profitability.
Assist in the development of project proposals and project implementation.
