Role OverviewThe Route Driver will pick up and deliver donated food on a regularly scheduled route. The role involves acting in the capacity of Customer Service Representatives in daily contact with donors. The schedule is Monday to Friday, working from 5am until the route is finished. The starting pay is $23/hr.
What You Will Do
Responsibilities include maintaining the assigned company vehicles, assisting in the loading/unloading of SMFB trucks, operating manual or electric pallet jacks, pre-loading equipment, washing out trailers/truck boxes, completing Driver Record of Duty and Vehicle Inspection Reports, maintaining the proper handling of food, and picking-up and delivering food donations.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, one year experience driving a commercial vehicle, a good driving record, basic computer skills, excellent customer service skills, a CDL (Class B) license, and current DOT Medical Certification. Bi-lingual skills in English/Spanish are preferred.
