Role OverviewThe Route Driver is responsible for representing the company while making deliveries and picking up freight. This involves delivering and picking up freight in a timely manner, inspecting and reporting any mechanical problems with the vehicle, and maintaining a professional personal appearance.
What You Will Do
Deliver and pick up freight, inspect and report any mechanical problems, load the truck in an organized manner, collect payments, verify content of pickups, and notify management of any problems or discrepancies.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have good customer service skills, be able to work independently, and have the ability to operate a manual transmission or be willing to learn. They will also be able to pass a DOT physical exam and work with various types of freight.
Requirements
- At least 21 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Valid Driver's License with a good driving record
- Ability to pass a DOT physical exam
- Ability to bend, lift, twist, climb stairs, while moving freight on and off company vehicle
- Ability to lift and move freight weighing up to 100 pounds
