Role Overview

Lead daily residential collection operations in Fort Pierce, Florida. This is an active leadership role where you'll be in the field working with drivers, monitoring routes, solving problems, improving safety, responding to customer needs, and helping your team succeed.

What You Will Do

Supervise and support CDL drivers and route employees, coordinate daily routes, staffing, equipment, and service priorities, conduct field observations, route checks, and employee ride-alongs, coach employees on safety, productivity, attendance, customer service, and job performance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 3–5 years of experience in transportation, management, logistics, waste/recycling, or a related field
  • Associate degree with at least 2 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or solid waste operations where coaching, route assessments, and employee supervision are key responsibilities
  • Previous supervisory or management experience preferred
  • Ability to coach employees, assess route performance, and provide day-to-day operational leadership
  • Knowledge and prior application of Smith System and/or Decision Driving principles and techniques preferred
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, ANSI, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and resolve problems in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer skills with general knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, based on operational needs
  • Must be available by phone to address operational issues as needed
  • Ability to maintain a professional and positive attitude when working with employees and customers
  • Knowledge of basic first-aid techniques is helpful
  • CDL Qualification: A Florida Class A or Class B CDL is preferred. If selected without a CDL, Waste Pro will provide you with the opportunity to obtain the required CDL within three (3) months of hire
