Role OverviewThe Safety Coordinator will maintain a daily presence on the shop floor, conduct routine safety observations/audits, and coach employees on safe work practices. They will identify unsafe conditions and behaviors, process risks in real time, and promote a proactive 'See Something, Say Something' culture. The Safety Coordinator will also assist in maintaining compliance with OSHA, NFPA, EPA, and company standards.
What You Will Do
The Safety Coordinator will conduct scheduled daily, weekly, and monthly safety inspections, respond to all injuries, near misses, property damage, spills, and safety concerns. They will lead or assist investigations, determine root cause, and develop corrective actions.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The Safety Coordinator will work closely with the Safety Manager to develop and implement safety programs, including PPE, LOTO, Haz. Com., respiratory protection, fall protection, electrical safety, ergonomics, hot work, etc. They will also assist in maintaining compliance with OSHA, NFPA, EPA, and company standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 3-4 years of experience
- 2+ years of safety experience in manufacturing, industrial, construction, or warehouse environment
- Knowledge of OSHA 1910 General Industry standards
- Experience conducting safety audits, incident investigations, root cause analysis, and employee safety training
- Strong communication and coaching ability
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
- Comfortable confronting unsafe behaviors professionally
- Basic computer skills (Excel, Outlook, reporting systems)
