Safety Professional - Oahu

The Safety Professional plays a critical role in creating a workplace that is safe, compliant, and supportive of progress. They facilitate the development and sustainment of a safe work culture and work towards achieving a zero-incident safety culture. They conduct trainings, ensure employee understanding of critical protocols, identify and analyze potential hazards, and proactively guide and support teams to create safer work environments.

What You Will Do

The Safety Professional will conduct inspections, develop and review safety policies, write procedures, and disseminate information to reduce or eliminate safety risks. They will provide research and technical expertise, design programs, and make recommendations to management on safety issues and programs.

Requirements

• Thorough knowledge of best practices in achieving superior safety performance
• Extensive knowledge of assigned Operations' systems, processes, and equipment
• Working knowledge of relevant HiOSH, Federal OSHA, DOT, DOH, PUC, NIOSH rules, regulations, and guidelines
• Ability to obtain certification as a first aid and CPR instructor, crane inspector, hearing conservationist, possess a certificate in spirometry, and complete NIOSH asbestos fiber course or equivalent
• Ability to function at accident scenes, at various company facilities, and respond to callouts at all hours
• Leadership skills, including oral, written, listening, communications skills, and report writing
• Ability to be a self-starter, meet deadlines, and participate as an effective member of a team
• Demonstrated ability to remain flexible in a demanding work environment and adapt to rapidly changing priorities
