Role Overview

The Safety Representative is a full-time, site-based safety resource supporting Lyons & Pinner's work on a large-scale data center construction project in Wheatfield, Indiana. The representative partners with project leadership, foremen, employees, subcontractors, the general contractor, and customer representatives to implement and enforce applicable company, project, owner, and regulatory requirements.

What You Will Do

Maintain a visible safety presence across assigned work areas during active operations, coach employees and supervisors, reinforce accountability, recognize safe performance, and address unsafe acts or conditions promptly. Conduct routine field observations, inspections, and audits, document findings, assign corrective actions, verify timely closeout, and elevate unresolved or high-risk issues.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of progressive construction safety experience, including direct support of electrical construction activities.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction card and current First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926, NFPA 70E, electrical safe-work practices, lockout/tagout, and common high-risk construction controls.
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize hazards, exercise stop-work authority, influence field teams, and drive corrective actions to closure.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organization, documentation, and interpersonal skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital project systems.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, maintain confidentiality, and collaborate effectively with employees, trade partners, customers, and project leadership.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to report consistently to the assigned project site and other field locations as business needs require.
