Role OverviewThe Safety & Security Manager will be responsible for developing security plans for all VOA-GNY facilities, overseeing security operations, and coordinating emergency preparedness efforts. This role will ensure the safety of clients and staff by overseeing security operations; providing guidance on the implementation of 'layered access' and other security design strategies; implementing security technologies; and negotiating and supervising third-party security contracts.
What You Will Do
The Safety & Security Manager will provide strategic and operational security leadership across a portfolio of over 60 residential and community/office facilities. This role will develop security plans, including standard operating procedures and physical/technical requirements, for all VOA-GNY facilities. The candidate must possess a comprehensive understanding of physical security technology, New York City building and safety codes, and risk assessment methodologies.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- at least 7 years of direct, full-time professional experience in public safety, security management, or law enforcement
- Certifications such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP) are highly desirable
