Requirements

• Drives a passenger vehicle, van or equivalent over designated routes and established time schedules, picking up and discharging clients
• Maintains safe driving habits and follow driving laws, i.e. follow speed limits, traffic signs, seatbelt requirements, and precautions on hazardous roadways
• Maintains accurate and program administrative records
• Cleans and sanitizes vehicle after use to ensure it is ready for next transport
• Services vehicle with fuel, oil and other fluids
• Identifies and reports problems or equipment malfunctions
• Attends courses and meetings that contribute to continuing driver education
• Monitors resident activities, provides security checks to ensure safety of resident throughout shift
• Responsible for resident rounds making sure all residents are accounted for
• Assists residents to become accustomed to the residential routine and encourages them to participate in social and recreational activities to promote recovery
