Job Description
An SBA Portfolio Officer is responsible for managing a portfolio of Small Business Administration (SBA) loans, ensuring compliance with SBA regulations, and maintaining positive relationships with borrowers. The role requires a deep understanding of SBA loan programs, credit analysis, and financial reporting.

Requirements

  • Comply with the Bank’s established loan policies and procedures.
  • Comply with SBA guidelines, procedures, and eligibility requirements.
  • Comply with regulatory requirements including Bank Secrecy Act – Anti Money Laundering, OFAC, USA Patriot Act, Privacy Act, and Community Reinvestment Act.
  • Meet with customers and respond to their inquiries based on the guidelines established by the Bank and the SBA.
  • Pre-screen all customers by interviewing, reviewing credit history, compiling initial cash flows, and SBA eligibility prior to any loan commitment.
  • Collect all required documents from the applicants and verify their accuracy.
  • Present the loan to the manager for approval and follow up on all required covenants.
  • Constantly keep in touch with referral sources to expand the opportunity for business development
  • Participate in community services to enhance the bank’s CRA activities and to improve bank’s image.
