Job Description
An SBA Portfolio Officer is responsible for managing a portfolio of Small Business Administration (SBA) loans, ensuring compliance with SBA regulations, and maintaining positive relationships with borrowers. The role requires a deep understanding of SBA loan programs, credit analysis, and financial reporting.
Requirements
Comply with the Bank’s established loan policies and procedures.
Comply with SBA guidelines, procedures, and eligibility requirements.
Comply with regulatory requirements including Bank Secrecy Act – Anti Money Laundering, OFAC, USA Patriot Act, Privacy Act, and Community Reinvestment Act.
Meet with customers and respond to their inquiries based on the guidelines established by the Bank and the SBA.
Pre-screen all customers by interviewing, reviewing credit history, compiling initial cash flows, and SBA eligibility prior to any loan commitment.
Collect all required documents from the applicants and verify their accuracy.
Present the loan to the manager for approval and follow up on all required covenants.
Constantly keep in touch with referral sources to expand the opportunity for business development
Participate in community services to enhance the bank’s CRA activities and to improve bank’s image.
