Role Overview

We are hiring a School-Age Childcare Assistant for our Before and After School Program at Petersham Center School for the 2026–2027 school year. The ideal candidate will love working with kids, bringing energy, kindness, and patience to each day, and enjoying encouraging children's curiosity, creativity, and confidence.

What You Will Do

The School-Age Childcare Assistant will facilitate hands-on activities, provide a safe and healthy environment, and act as a positive role model for children in the program. They will also observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • A Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree and at least three months of experience working with school-age children.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent and at least six months of experience working with school-age children, including at least three months of supervised experience in a school-age childcare program.
  • At least nine months of experience working with school-age children, including at least three months of supervised experience in a school-age childcare program.
