School Age Childcare Site Director – After School

The School Age Childcare Site Director will oversee the After School Program at AJ Smith Elementary School, working with children aged 5-12. The role involves facilitating hands-on activities, providing a safe and healthy environment, and supporting program operations. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and a positive attitude.

The Site Director will facilitate hands-on activities, observe state guidelines and program policies, and support program operations. They will also provide a safe and healthy environment for children and act as a positive role model.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation, or related field plus 2 years of experience working with children under 13, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Two years of college with 18 credits in a related field plus 2 years of experience working with children under 13, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• NY State Children’s Program Administrator Credential plus 2 years of relevant experience.
• School-Age Child Care Credential or equivalent office-recognized credential plus 2 years of relevant experience.
• Required health clearance, including TB screening, in accordance with state regulations.
• Must demonstrate a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and reliability.
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds while actively engaging with children throughout the day.
