School Age Childcare Site Director – After School

The School Age Childcare Site Director will be responsible for facilitating hands-on activities, providing a safe and healthy environment, and supporting program operations at Grimshaw Elementary School. This position is well-suited for parents, education majors, or retirees who enjoy working with children and want to make a positive impact. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for working with kids, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional care.

What You Will Do

The School Age Childcare Site Director will facilitate hands-on activities, provide a safe and healthy environment, and support program operations. This includes facilitating the Healthy Kids Curriculum, observing state guidelines and policies, and supporting program operations.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation, or related field plus 2 years of experience working with children under 13, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Two years of college with 18 credits in a related field plus 2 years of experience working with children under 13, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• NY State Children’s Program Administrator Credential plus 2 years of relevant experience.
• School-Age Child Care Credential or equivalent office-recognized credential plus 2 years of relevant experience.
• Required health clearance, including TB screening, in accordance with state regulations.
• Must demonstrate a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and reliability.
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds while actively engaging with children throughout the day.
