School-Age Childcare Site Director – After School

The School-Age Childcare Site Director will be responsible for leading the After School Program at AJ Smith Elementary School. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, a strong ability to facilitate hands-on activities, and a commitment to providing exceptional care. The Site Director will work closely with the team to create a safe, healthy, and fun environment for children in the program.

What You Will Do

The Site Director will facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum, provide a safe and healthy environment, and act as a positive role model for children. They will also observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies. Additionally, the Site Director will support program operations, including attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation, or related field plus 2 years of experience working with children under 13, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Two years of college with 18 credits in a related field plus 2 years of experience working with children under 13, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• NY State Children’s Program Administrator Credential plus 2 years of relevant experience.
• School-Age Child Care Credential or equivalent office-recognized credential plus 2 years of relevant experience.
• Required health clearance, including TB screening, in accordance with state regulations.
• Must demonstrate a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and reliability.
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds while actively engaging with children throughout the day.
