Role OverviewUnder the general direction of the school principal, assists in the instruction of pupils, performs related duties, and supports schools during the COVID-19 pandemic. Works under the immediate supervision of a teacher holding a valid state certificate directly engaged in teaching subject matter or conducting activities.
What You Will Do
Assists in supervising students during lunchroom and playground activities, provides security functions, assists students in understanding and completing classroom assignments, and operates photocopying and duplicating machines. Supports schools during the COVID-19 pandemic by communicating with families of quarantined students, assisting with securing devices, and coordinating logistical details of remote instruction.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Requires good knowledge of proper English grammar and spelling, basic knowledge of mathematics, and knowledge of Chicago Public Schools rules and regulations. Ability to work with and for school-aged children, follow written and oral instructions, and communicate effectively with the public.
Requirements
- Graduation from high school (or G.E.D. equivalent)
- Six months experience in an educational setting
