Role Overview

The School Athletic Director plays a critical role in overseeing the development and implementation of a comprehensive high school athletics program. The role involves administering extracurricular athletic programs, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The Athletic Director will be accountable for the development and implementation of a comprehensive high school athletics program, including the administration of extracurricular athletic programs, maintenance of records, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

What You Will Do

The School Athletic Director will be responsible for administering the extracurricular athletic programs, maintaining files and records, responding to requests for information, implementing board policies, and assessing department needs. The role also involves evaluating the extracurricular athletic programs, developing and updating handbooks, and informing the school community about extracurricular athletic programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university
  • NIAAA Registered Athletic Administrator (RAA) preferred
  • Completion of Developing Competitors and Mental Wellness through Positive Coaching offered through the Positive Coaches Alliance- preferred
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in interscholastic sports (e.g., coaching, athletic program administration)
  • Supervisory experience preferred
