Role Overview

The School Athletic Director plays a critical role in overseeing the development and implementation of a comprehensive high school athletics program. They will be held accountable for various responsibilities, including providing on-site coverage, overseeing district safety and security protocols, and administering extracurricular athletic programs.

What You Will Do

The School Athletic Director will be responsible for maintaining files and records, responding to requests for information, implementing board policies, and evaluating the extracurricular athletic programs. They will also oversee transportation, develop and update handbooks, and ensure that all eligibility reports and lists of participation are submitted on a weekly basis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Valid Professional Educator License (PEL) and an Administrative Endorsement / PK–12 Principal Endorsement
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in interscholastic sports (e.g., coaching, athletic program administration)
  • Supervisory experience preferred
