Role OverviewThis part-time position is responsible for preparing and serving lunches to students and staff at the Walsh Academy of Maryville Academy. The School Cook will assist in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, prepping, cooking, and serving food in a safe manner.
What You Will Do
The main day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with food preparation, cleaning and organization of coolers and storage areas, cleaning dishes, storing and labeling food properly, serving lunch and snacks, disposing of garbage and recycling, sweeping and mopping floors, and checking in and putting away deliveries.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED equivalent, at least 2 years of experience working in professional kitchens, a Food Handlers Permit, good knife skills, and the ability to take direction and perform repetitive tasks. Bonus qualifications include baking/pastry experience, catering/institutional cooking experience, and Food Protection Manager Certification.
