Role Overview

As a vital member of the school's educational leadership team, the school counselor provides comprehensive, developmental supports to ensure students become productive, well-adjusted adults. They are uniquely trained professional educators with a mental health perspective, providing proactive leadership to engage all stakeholders in delivering programs and services to help all students achieve success in school.

What You Will Do

The school counselor will create, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive school counseling program, conduct annual needs assessments, design and co-teach learning activities, provide individual student planning activities, and provide responsive services to address students' barriers to academic achievement.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in school counseling, a current ISBE Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Counseling Endorsement, and experience in creating and implementing comprehensive school counseling programs.
