Role Overview

As a vital member of the school's educational leadership team, the school counselor provides comprehensive, developmental supports within the academic, personal/social, and career domains to ensure students become productive, well-adjusted adults. School counselors are uniquely trained professional educators with a mental health perspective who understand and respond to the challenges presented by today's diverse student population.

What You Will Do

Create, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive school counseling program aligned with the CPS REACH Framework. Conduct annual needs assessments and data reviews to determine and prioritize student needs. Implement the school counseling core curriculum, provide individual student planning activities, and provide responsive services to address students' barriers to academic achievement.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in school counseling and a current ISBE Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Counseling Endorsement. They will be proactive leaders who engage all stakeholders in delivering programs and services to help all students achieve success in school.
