Role Overview

The School Crossing Guard is responsible for controlling vehicle and pedestrian traffic flow at school crossings for safety purposes. They direct or escort pedestrians across streets, communicate traffic and crossing rules, and discourage children from behaving unsafely near traffic. The guard may need to create gaps in traffic to help students cross safely.
